Tascha - Glanzberg Blue Topaz at Staubach

When we started to look for a female after we had had Oska a while we had an idea of what we were looking for in the way of the Swiss breeding lines so we contacted Sonja Gorbould (Todd) who had been the person who imported Oska's father Fero from Switzerland. After a few telephone calls to Sonja and her husband Reg we then visited her when she had her next litter, they were from her Swiss import Bosco, we liked the litter however as I (Ian) told Sonja I did not like Bosco at all. We had done lots of research on Bosco's breeding lines and were quite happy with the results we found, so at 8 weeks old we drove to Kent to collect Tascha, from the moment she entered our home and lives she was very special.

Our first litter was produced by Tascha and another of Sonja's Swiss imports, Heiko v. Scheimatthof of Glanzberg in May 1999, from this litter we kept two puppies one male who we named Heiko and one female who we named Madi. In 2010 Madi celebrated her 10th birthday, she is the last surviving dog from our first litter, both Tascha and Madi have been beautiful Bernese, not show dogs but both had wonderful temperements and character. When it was time for Madi to have puppies she passed on all the good attributes from Tascha to all the offspring.

Having Tascha in our lives as our first Bernese female made us love this great breed even more, Tascha was the most loving dog with such a fantastic character and temperement, she left a great impression on all who met her especially our dear friends from our local farm 'Thorntree Farm' -Lol and Mais who were heartbroken when Tascha died.
